The Ames City Council meeting starts at 6 p.m. The agenda includes:

Item 2: Criminal justice briefing for Ames and Story County

This report, presented by Ames Police Chief Chuck Cychosz and Story County Attorney Jessica Reynolds, details crime trends, staff trainings (especially regarding diversity), special divisions and programs, and the role of county and city attorneys.

Item 3: Staff report on digester gas utilization at water pollution control facility

We currently convert methane gas produced at the water pollution control facility to electricity, but it may be cheaper to buy electricity from that area’s rural cooperative. The council will discuss if the sustainability benefits justify the cost of operating that system.
